Before you set up your showroom on Carkot, please read how your business information will be shared and what buyers can expect from you.

What buyers can see
Your business name, showroom location and address, opening hours, published car listings, prices, descriptions and car photographs are visible to visitors. Buyers who sign in with a mobile number verified by OTP can reveal your business phone number and contact you directly, without first sending an enquiry. For phone accounts, your verified Carkot sign-in number is your business contact number. Use a number you are authorised and willing to share with buyers.
Permission to represent your business
You confirm that you are an adult authorised to represent this dealership, offer the listed cars and share the business contact details. You have permission to upload and use the photographs and information you provide. You keep your rights to that content and permit Carkot to store, display and share it to operate and promote the relevant listings.
Accurate cars, prices and disclosures
Use the exact make, model and variant, genuine photographs of the actual car, the correct odometer reading and a real asking price. Disclose additional charges, known faults, repairs, modifications, accident or repaint history, service-record availability, ownership, RC, insurance and loan status. State when information is unknown. Eligible cars are up to 10 years from first registration and no more than 1,50,000 km at submission and approval.
Private documents and registration numbers
A complete car registration number is required to prevent duplicate unsold listings. It and your business verification files are restricted to your account and authorised Carkot team members. Cover number plates and unrelated personal details in public car photos. Put your business phone number in its designated contact field; do not put it in listing descriptions or photographs if you want it shown only through Contact dealer.
Keep your stock current
Keep price, location and availability up to date. Mark sold cars promptly and use Reserved accurately. If you answer a Carkot stock check with Sold, that car is removed from buyer searches while its photos and enquiry history are retained. A Still available answer records your confirmation. No answer does not automatically mark a car sold.
Respond to buyers and confirm visits
Buyers may call you directly or send a contact or test-drive request through Carkot. Respond promptly during your stated business hours. A test-drive request needs your confirmation of the date, time and arrangements; it is not a confirmed appointment. Agree the complete price, payment, transfer, inspection, warranty, cancellation and refund arrangements directly with the buyer in writing where relevant.
Handle buyer details responsibly
Use buyer information shared with you only for the relevant enquiry and agreed follow-up. Respect requests to stop contact. Do not sell buyer details, add buyers to unrelated marketing lists, send spam or use another account’s records. Carkot does not automatically send you a buyer’s number merely because they save a car or view your contact number.
Approval, scores and moderation
Business and car approvals are separate. A business badge describes review of submitted business evidence, not a guarantee of a car’s condition. Listing scores measure completeness; enquiry labels estimate interest. Neither guarantees enquiries, visits or sales. Carkot may request corrections, reject applications, take listings offline, or suspend or remove accounts for misleading information, spam or other misuse. Contact Carkot support to ask about a decision. Changes to an approved business profile pause its listings until review and approval again.
Plans and optional communication
The current Starter plan includes up to five live or reserved cars. No paid plan or sponsorship starts automatically. Any paid service needs its price, duration and cancellation terms agreed separately. WhatsApp test-drive alerts and stock-check messages have separate optional choices; accepting these terms does not switch them on. Carkot does not currently collect car payments or booking deposits.
Acceptance, privacy and support
Carkot records the accepting account, sign-in method, date, time and this version of the dealer terms. Acceptance is remembered for this version; a material change may require a new acceptance. The Privacy policy explains how records and requests are handled. You can ask about corrections, account closure or privacy through Contact & support. These terms do not remove rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
